Chosen strand Film noir / editing with light. Potential to develop in colour- Alex Prager and Cindy Sherman both created a series called untitled film stills. But use stronger colour, projections. Alternatively illuminate abstract parts of the face / body (we like this one more!).

Look at the work of Debbie smyth and in particular her pylon series. Create more image of pylons/overhead train lines that can then be used in your mock creation. Select the wood board that you want to create onto and paint the board white in anticipation of your new creation. Get black thread/string and thin nails that you can use to create the image. Consider using the image as a simple guide and removing it once the image has been created.

Continue with the idea of photography pylons and cables that can then be simplified and contrasted against a white background. Look at the work of Uwe Langmann in particular his lines series. With these photographs consider the idea of creating more sculptural pieces with lines that can be connected to the photographs and then taken of the page
Also look at the work of Pamela Campagna

Look at the work below and take some more pictures with the aim of creating work in this style next week. Photograph the overhanging lines at train stations look for areas that show intersections between the cables and forms.Kings cross would be a good location to capture this structure as well as t he cable and tain lines there is also the roof that shows intersecting structures and lines.

I prefer your photos of the pylons. Look at these by someone on the Deviant Art website- their avatar name is Dpressed Soul.Abstracting structures by cropping close and increasing contrast.

Look at the work of Idris Khan and the way he layers the hard structures that he photographs consider doing this with images taken of pylons and other structures that you find next to the M25. A side consideration is to look at the work of Catherine Christofis in her A406 series that looks at the way Nature overcomes mans impact and surveys in the most unlikeliest of places. Could then start to look at compare natural structures and man made structure.

Complete all three strands and then look at the work of Maurizio Anzeri his portrait series that is sewed into and on top of. Link this to the theme of the abstract portrait. Take a series of portraits that can be printed out and then worked into.
